Ensures the heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation systems run smoothly and efficiently. Performs installation and service, including inspection, maintenance, repair, and testing of HVAC systems.
* Perform preventive maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of main cooling/heating systems
* Install, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, belts, fans, coils, compressors, etc.
* Perform other duties as required
*Minimum Qualifications*
* One (1) year of applicable experience in Residential or Commercial HVAC Maintenance and Installation
* Able to use a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Office
* Demonstrate basic knowledge of HVAC systems
* Demonstrate the ability to understand the hazards associated with working on/around HVAC equipment, troubleshooting HVAC refrigerant, electrical (480/208 3 phase and 120 volt), and gas systems
* Ability to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment including filter change, coil cleaning, basic equipment inspection, and functional operation check
* Ability to effectively record and communicate equipment defects
* Ability to assist with basic installation and repair of HVAC equipment
* Self-motivated and willing to work with, and be a contributing member of the HVAC team
* Good communication skills with the ability to communication with all employees at all levels
* High School diploma or GED
* One (1) year of training in a Trade School for HVAC/Electrical/Mechanical
* Two (2) years of applicable experience in Residential or Commercial HVAC Maintenance and Installation
* Universal EPA HVAC 608 Certification
* Ability to independently install, diagnose, repair and replace a wide variety of heating, ventilation, cooling systems and ice makers
* Ability to effectively troubleshoot electrical/electronic controls associated with HVAC systems
* Demonstrate knowledge on how to read HVAC drawings
* Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
* Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
* Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
* Able to adapt to changes in work environment and frequent delays, changes and unexpected events
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms and work in confined spaces
* Occasionally may be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the work day
* Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
* Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
